The Ecuadorian Flag

Ecuador's flag looks similar to those of Colombia and Venezuela, but don't say that to an Ecuadorian, as the bandera tricolor (tricolor flag) is a powerful patriotic symbol with Ecuadorian people.

From a very young age, starting in preschool, children have a day dedicated to the flag called "Jura a la Bandera" or loosely translated Pledge to the Flag, and on historical holidays that demark important days in Ecuador's history, the Ecuadorian flag is proudly displayed in the majority of homes throughout the country.

The Ecuadorian flag has a high place in the hearts and the psyches of the Ecuadorian people.
